Article sounds convincing until you realized that there is a very mature and reasonably open smartphone platform out there, called Symbian. Sure it was very much Nokia driven, but anyone can develop for it. The iPhone is going head to head to the Symbian platform and I would claim that they are pulling market share from them.

Journalist should do some research before writing an article just because it is a hot topic.
