Taste of Tai Chi Form
These are the movements in the Taste of Tai Chi Form with my own notes:
Start facing North
- Preparation
- get ready, feet together
- shift weight left, sink down
- step out right
- shift weight center, sink
- tai Chi Beginning
- sink shoulders to raise arms
- sink elbows
- sink wrist raise hands
- push down both hands, bend knees
- Grasp the birds tail
- Weight left, right T step, embrace ball on left
- Step out right with heel
- Weight right, block right
- invert hands
- Weight left, drag down
- Weight right, raise arms
- turn right, press
- press out, separate hands
- weight left, push down
- wieght right, push forward
- Single Whip
- Weight left, inward pivot right
- Turn left, outward wipe
- Weight right, block right, relax left hand
- Turn right with hook hand, left palm up
- Step out left, block left
- Bow step left, push left
- Wave hands like Clouds (3 times)
- Weight right, inward pivot left, relax hands, form "V" with feet.
- Weight left, block left, hands up and down
- counter left by turning left, invert hands
- Step right foot closer
- Weight right, block right, hands up and down
- counter right by turning right, invert hands
- Step left foot out, maintain V
- Weight left, block left, hands up and down
- counter left by turning left, invert hands
- ...
- ...
- ...
- Step back left, right fist punch horizontal, left palm up. (keep weight on right) (punch up?)
- Weight left/back and drag
- hands up, Outward pivot right, deflect left, then weight right, intercept left -- with left hand (twist right)
- step up left, draw right fist back
- Left bow step, vertical punch, left palm assists.
- Left hand under right elbow
- Weight right, sit step. Turn palms in
- Open arms, palms up and out
- Left bow step, push to front
