Vanquest JAVELIN 2.0 VSlinger slingpack

Vanquest VSlinger 2.0

Compare to my Tumi T-Tech Messenger Bag
Slightly smaller in all profiles

Tumi at the back

Smaller than the Tumi

Front Admin Pocket
Love the Vanquest bright orange interior. Very easy to find things.

One of two Key Hook
This one is in the front admin pocket. There is another on the side admin pocket.

Admin Pocket containing my sharpie etc
Always keep a sharpie in the bag. Initially I put my large wallet here. I since moved the wallet to the front zip pocket in front of this admin pocket. (I do not use this wallet much. I carry a slim wallet in my front pants pocket).

Front Admin Pocket

Wallet in the front zip pocket, "lockable"
The zipper can be "locked" with the snap strap

Top Small Pocket
cinch cord in front, small pass thru area under the hook-and-loop patch area

Stop small Pocket
Good for smaller items. I sometimes put my car keys in here.

Top Small Pocket with my Headphones
My Klipsh X11i goes into here.

What I need to carry each day
This is what I carry in my Tumi daily to the office. At the end I could not fit the umbrella, nor my papers in the plastic protector case in the VSlinger.

The Retina Macbook Pro 13inch barely fits
My 13 inch retina Macbook Pro actually does fit into the VSlinger if the big is not too stuffed.

13 inch Macbook Pro
It just fits.

My Daily Content, except the paper
The plastic paper protector that I use in my Tumi messenger does *not* fit into the VSlinger. It is slightly wider than a 8.5 x 11 piece of paper because it protects the paper with extra plastic. The VSlinger is too narrow for it. Luckily I do not need to carry letter size paper normally.

Small Velcro pocket in the flap area
A small pocket in the flap area, useful for small infrequently used items?

Bag and Sling Strap
This bag is very comfortable to carry. The back is well padded.

Solid connection of the sling strap to the body

The small built in handle is a nice touch

Pull handle at the bottom of the Sling Strap
I really like this feature. When you are wearing the bag, you can reach for this handle to pull / swing the bag to the front.

Note how the end of the strap is folded over into a triangle
Small details make this a great bag

Stabilizing cross strap, removable
There is a removable cross strap for stabilizing the sling.

Cross strap connects to the main strap via a strong double snap closure

Removing the end of the cross strap will leave a small exposed buckle

Stopper for the main zip
If this stopper is snapped into place, the main compartment opening can be restricted

Dangling stopper
If you do not use this stopper, the short strap is leave dangling. It could be tied down with a small piece of velcro

Concealed back pocket, good for an iPad Air

Lockable Zippers Everywhere

Beefy buckle for the main sling strap

Loops on the strap
While great for attaching things, these loops make the strap very tactical looking

Small handle, clever design detail

Side loop for water tube from hydration pack

Hydration Tube loop

Side Admin Pocket
This is on the side when the bag is vertical, but at the bottom if the bag is slinged to the front while carrying

Second key holder
